Origin

Our origin is more than a geographical location — it is the foundation of our mindset and the way we approach our work every day. Situated in the northernmost part of the Kamptal, around 70 kilometers northwest of Vienna, our wines are shaped by a landscape defined by purity, calmness, and a distinctly cool climate. This region demands attentiveness, consistency, and a deep respect for the natural balance.

The Kamptal is widely known for its loess soils — fertile, wind-deposited layers of clay, sand, and silt. In our vineyards, however, loess forms mainly the upper layer of the soil. Beneath it lies ancient primary rock such as amphibolite, gneiss, and other metamorphic stone formations that define the deeper character of our sites. This combination of fertile topsoil and mineral-rich bedrock gives our wines tension, structure, and a distinctive sense of origin.

We cultivate some of the northernmost vineyards in the Kamptal. Many of our parcels are already surrounded by forest or directly bordered by natural woodland. This close connection to nature creates an especially cool microclimate with significant temperature differences between day and night. These conditions allow for slow ripening, freshness, and aromatic precision — qualities that fundamentally shape the character of our wines.

We see viticulture as a responsibility that requires respect for nature, the soil, and time itself. Every vineyard site has its own identity and demands a individual and disciplined approach. For this reason, we work with great attention in the vineyard and with restraint in the cellar, preserving the authentic expression of each site as clearly as possible.

The result is wines with clarity, minerality, depth, and precision. They are not driven by loudness, but by character. Not by trends, but by authenticity. Our goal is for every wine to reflect its origin honestly and unmistakably.

For us, excellence is not about perfection for its own sake. It is about the consistent dedication to what truly matters: creating honest wines that express their origin with integrity and stand the test of time.

Philosophy

It all starts with a vision: to create wines that not only express quality, but also convey character, origin, and authenticity. For us, viticulture is far more than production — it is a long-term dialogue with nature, the soil, and the unique conditions of each individual vintage.

Our work is rooted in organic and biodynamic farming according to the principles of Demeter. We see nature as a living continuum shaped by relationships, rhythms, and cycles. Every year reminds us how differently each season unfolds and how precisely these conditions are reflected in the character of the wines. We do not see this diversity as something to standardize, but as a true expression of individuality and authenticity.

For this reason, we work in the vineyards with great attention, sensitivity, and respect. Our goal is to preserve healthy and resilient soils while strengthening the natural balance of the vines. Every decision requires respect for living systems, discipline in daily work, and the willingness to think long term.

Especially in our terrace vineyards, manual work remains essential. Canopy management, harvest, and the careful selection of grapes are carried out entirely by hand. We believe that true precision is not created by technology alone, but through experience, dedication, and the attentiveness of committed people. This is why we consciously invest in our team and in a way of working that values quality above efficiency.

In the cellar, we follow the same philosophy of clarity and restraint. From healthy and carefully ripened grapes, wines are created with as little intervention as possible. Our intention is not to shape the wine according to trends or expectations, but to give it the time and space needed to unfold its origin naturally and honestly.

Time itself is an essential part of our philosophy. Many of our wines mature for extended periods on the lees in barrels and tanks, allowing them to develop depth, structure, and balance. Our single-vineyard wines are often released only after several years, once they have reached a state of harmony, precision, and inner calm.

For us, excellence is not the pursuit of perfection for its own sake. It is the result of consistency, patience, and the uncompromising commitment to remain true to our values. Our wines are not meant to be loud — they are meant to leave a lasting impression, shaped by origin, shaped by time, and shaped by a philosophy rooted in respect and responsibility.

Unsere Weine

Kamptal regional wines

Our Kamptal regional wines stand for a clear sense of origin from the northern Kamptal. Cool vineyard sites, mineral soils, and careful work in the vineyard shape their style. They are fresh, juicy, and linear, with cool aromatics, fine spice, and a distinct saline-mineral tension. Light, animating, and clear in expression – the direct and unfiltered introduction to our origin.

sparkling wines and Pet Nats

Our sparkling wines and Pet Nats are produced in the northern Kamptal from cool vineyard sites, consistent manual work, and a clear understanding of origin. Our Sekt is made in the traditional method with long lees aging, showing finesse, structure, and depth. Our Pet Nat is crafted in a more original and spontaneous way, vibrant and direct in expression. Both stand for honest craftsmanship, natural tension, and a respectful approach to time and nature – different in method, yet united by origin, mindset, and quality.

Special
Release

Our Special Release wines are created outside our classic ranges, allowing space for curiosity, experimentation, and new forms of expression within the northern Kamptal. Here we work with alternative vinification and ageing methods, skin contact (maceration), and indigenous grape varieties. These wines are often one-offs, shaped by vintage, idea, and moment. Unconventional, independent, and deeply handcrafted, they open new perspectives on origin and wine – bold, open-minded, and deliberately different, while always remaining connected to nature and soil.
